You need to install the app to set it up, and it works by the app and by google and Alexa assistants. Also, it has a pasted device behind the tv to control the lights manually. The lights and the tv are independent, which means that if you turn on/off your tv, the LumiLight™ will not turn on/off.

Will it work well if my TV is in the corner?

Yes, It will work perfectly if your TV is mounted on the wall center or corner. It will spread the soothing light and glow your background.
